Stop & Shop plans to close under-performing stores nationwide; not known if Connecticut locations will close

In a recent statement, supermarket chain Stop & Shop revealed plans to close a number of under-performing store locations across the country by 2028.

The company aims to invest more resources into stores that are performing well, optimizing its operations for greater efficiency.

Stop & Shop currently operates 88 stores in Connecticut, but the company did not specify whether any local locations will be affected by the closures.
