Montgomery County police fatally shoot man at Silver Spring apartment

A man is dead after he was shot by police after they responded to a Silver Spring apartment complex on Wednesday night. Montgomery County police were called to the 3300 block of Hampton Point Drive around 11:40 p.m. Investigators received reports that an armed man fired shots before shutting himself inside a unit in the building.
