Governing boards in Buffalo's suburbs are historically white. Change has come – in Kenmore.

The Village of Kenmore was incorporated in 1899 as Buffalo’s first streetcar suburb. In its 125 years, village officials believe, every person who served as mayor or as a village trustee was white.
