Seattle City Council passes legislation to streamline police recruitment

The Seattle City Council unanimously approved legislation Tuesday to speed up police recruiting and also focus on hiring female officers. The ordinance calls for moving a handful of human resources staffers into the Seattle Police Department (SPD), as well as streamlining the testing process and forcing a city analyst to respond to every recruit within 48 hours.
