DRACUT — When he was hired in 1972 by Superintendent Christos Daoulas at age 31, Bruce Hutchins was the youngest principal in Massachusetts. At his retirement in 2002, he was the longest tenured principal in Massachusetts. While current Dracut High School students do not know Bruce Hutchins — who died last October at the age of 82 — they certainly know about the annual Dracut Scholarship Foundation Telethon started by Hutchins 40 years ago this year.
