Weather alert for strong thunderstorms in Marion County Saturday afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 12:03 p.m. on Saturday for strong thunderstorms until 1 p.m. for Marion County. Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 40 mph. "At 12:03 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles east of Fairview to near New Salem. Movement was east at 25 mph," according to the weather service.
