Tofino had been one of my favorite places to buy wine in San Francisco, and it was always a conduit for what was cool and exciting in wine. When it first opened, in 2015, the selection was heavy in producers like Matthiasson, Liquid Farm and Wind Gap, a cadre that former Chronicle wine editor Jon Bonné had dubbed “New California.” Over the years, it slowly gravitated more toward natural wine, but compared with other shops in the Bay Area, Sack and Nevin retained one of the broadest interpretations of “natural.”...
