We’ve come a long way since then , and Rhode Island has taken commendable steps to address this issue by mandating in 2022 that Asian American and Pacific Islander history be taught in public schools ( S2910A , H7272A ). The law was written to be implemented in September 2023, however, it provided no funding for the curriculum and left school districts to fend for themselves.
