When New Jersey was rocked by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake on April 5, some residents received text messages from the county they live in to check their homes for structural damage. But what about highway and transit bridges in the state, that number in the thousands? Where do inspectors even start? The state has 6,820 road bridges and NJ Transit has 691 bridges of varying types.
