Kentwood voters to decide on public safety tax increase

KENTWOOD, MI – Kentwood city officials are warning of “significant cuts” to police and fire services if voters next month don’t approve a tax increase. Kentwood voters will decide during the May 7 special election on a roughly 31% increase to the city’s permanent public safety millage that city officials say would provide “critical” support for police, fire and emergency medical services in the growing city.
