The youngest female ever to run the Boston Marathon, Briar-Rose Honeywill-Sykes takes it all in stride

The youngest female competitor in Monday’s field — and youngest ever — Honeywill-Sykes crossed the line in 3:42:19, at age 18 years, one day. She is a veteran runner, however, and Hopkinton-to-Boston is far from her longest trek. “I kept it under control until the last strip here, where you can see the finish line,” said Briar-Rose Honeywill-Sykes, still leaking around her mirrored shades. “Just really happy and proud of myself [for] being here.
