Bellevue extends medical benefits for motorcycle officer who fell onto I-5

A Bellevue City Councilmember announced Monday night the city found a solution to cover all medical benefits for officer Kevin Bereta, who was hurt on duty during Vice President Kamala Harris' visit on Aug. 15. Jared Nieuwenhuis posted on X, adding that the solution includes covering all first responders moving forward "when extended benefits are needed due to extensive injuries while on duty."
