Lake County GOP voters showed desire for change in two key primary races

Voters who cast Republican ballots in Lake County’s March 19 Primary Election delivered a similar message in two contested races. That is: They didn’t want two incumbent office holders to represent the GOP in the Nov. 5 General Election. Commissioner John Hamercheck and Clerk of Courts Faith Andrews both lost in their respective primary contests. According to unofficial final results from the Lake County Elections Board, Beverage netted 11,336 votes to Hamercheck’s 8,840. Dennis L. Keeney finished third with 2,429 votes.
