Protest vote overshadows Biden’s Michigan win

The president won big in Michigan, but an “uncommitted” vote stole much of the spotlight. President Biden’s reelection campaign acknowledged that some “uncommitted” voters in the primary election could signal a weakness for Biden in a state he needs in November. A protest campaign, which advocated for Michiganders to vote uncommitted based on their opposition to Biden’s handling of Israel’s war in Gaza, led to an “uncommitted” vote of more than 13 percent in the state.
