Suspect shot by police after entering Mesquite school with a firearm

Police are investigating an active shooter threat at Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy in Mesquite. According to the Mesquite Police Department, officers responded to a call about a person with a gun at the school located at 3200 Oates Drive. Police said when officers arrived as the scene, they learned that one suspect entered the school with a firearm.
