HECO initiates emergency outages on Big Island

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaiian Electric is initiating 30-minute rolling outages in various parts of Big Island on Tuesday, Jan. 30 following an unexpected loss of several large generators.
HECO said rolling out these emergency outages will help prevent loss of power to even more customers.
The generators affected include their Kanoelehua CT-1 and Puna CT-3 combustion turbine units.
