Plane headed for central Pa. forced to land on Virginia highway

A small commuter plane on its way to Lancaster with seven people on board was forced to make an emergency landing on a Virginia highway Friday afternoon, just minutes after taking off. The plane, Southern Airways Express Flight 246, took off from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) at 12:45 p.m. and immediately banked to the left before landing on Loudoun County Parkway at 12:47 p.m., according to FlightAware, a flight tracking website.
