TOPEKA, Kan. (KWCH) - The conference committee handling taxation in Kansas released a plan on Tuesday that it said will simplify the tax code and reduce taxes for all Kansans. The bill, HB 2284, contains the following components: • None Exempts the first $100,000 in state property taxes for all Kansas homeowners, adjusted each year for inflation. • None Simplifies the tax code via a dual-rate structure that exempts the first $6,150 in income for every Kansan ($12,300 for married couples) and establishes a 5.25% rate on income after that,...
