Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee Files for Reelection to House Following Houston Mayoral Bid Loss

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, on Sunday filed for reelection to her House seat after losing a bid to become mayor of Houston over the weekend. Jackson Lee's filing, first reported by the Houston Chronicle, will result in a primary against Amanda Edwards, a former Houston city council member. The Texas representative lost to state senator John Whitmire by a wide margin on Saturday after the pair proceeded to a run-off following November's all-party primary.
