Benton Harbor woman sentenced after stealing over $1 million in COVID-19 relief funds

A Benton Harbor woman is seeing 10 years in prison after committing fraud with other family members. 46-year-old Roshell Beaty received a 124 month sentence on Tuesday after previously pleading guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft. A press release states that Beaty and her family stole almost $750,000 of unemployment insurance money by filing unemployment insurance claims in their own names in several states.
