FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Village of Flossmoor has plans to honor traditions of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, with community lightings of the menorah and kinara. Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, starts at sundown on Dec. 7, and ends at nightfall on Dec. 15. Kwanzaa, a secular festival observed by the Black culture from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, serves as a celebration of their cultural heritage and traditional values.
