National Christmas Tree Toppled Near White House

The National Christmas tree was toppled due to excessive winds near the White House. According to WTOP News, the tree fell around 1 p.m. Tuesday. A National Parks Service spokesperson stated, “After assessing the tree’s condition and replacing a snapped cable, the tree is now upright as of 6 p.m.” But that didn’t stop social media users from using the situation to comment on the state of the nation.
