I-10 East reopened at Michoud after deadly multi-vehicle crash caused by smoke, fog

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Michoud Boulevard were reopened by about 11 a.m. Tuesday, after a multi-vehicle crash that killed one and injured several others closed the heavily trafficked roadway for roughly six hours.

I-10 West remained closed, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

I-10 at Michoud was closed in both directions at around 4:30 a.m., after dense smoke and fog settled over the road, leading to a crash involving several cars and an 18-wheeler.
