BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com/KFGO) – The North Dakota Senate slammed the door on Governor Doug Burgum’s proposal to expand income tax relief on the last day of the legislature’s special session Wednesday, just one day after the state House of Representatives resoundingly passed the bill. The Senate vote was 16-31 against the $91 million proposal, which would have raised the income threshold for zero income tax to $60,000 for a single filer, and $100,000 for married couples who file joint returns.
