Tim Wakefield died Sunday, the Red Sox announced. He was only 57 years old. Wakefield had been battling cancer, a fact made public without his consent by a former teammate just days ago. One of the last true knuckleball pitchers, Wakefield spent the last 17 seasons of his 19-year MLB career with the Red Sox. He won rings with the club in 2004 and 2007.
