3 South Dakota schools named as Blue Ribbon Schools

Schools in Bridgewater-Emery, Brandon Valley and Castlewood have been named Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education this year, the South Dakota Department of Education announced Thursday. Bridgewater-Emery Elementary School, Fred Assam Elementary School in Brandon Valley and Castlewood High School have all earned the recognition this year. The award celebrates schools for excellence in academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps.
