COOK, Minn. (KFGO/KDAL) – St. Louis County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Canadian National train derailment about six miles north of Cook in northeastern Minnesota Monday night.
Nine cars left the tracks. Of those, four stayed upright and five tipped on their sides.
Two of the rail cars contained hazardous material in the form of liquefied petroleum gas, but no leaks or spills were reported.
Authorities said the cars derailed in a rural area, and the public is not in danger.
