Walmart Plans to Invest $257 Million to Open Its First Beef Processing Facility

By June 2025, Walmart hopes to be in control of its beef. The big box retailer announced plans to open a reported $257 million facility in Olathe, Kansas. The plant will be 320,000 square-feet, according to local TV station KSN and should create more than 600 jobs. The investment is not surprising since Walmart books 60% of its annual sales from groceries.
