ALBANY — Forecasted rainfall is expected to dissipate some of the wildfire smoke darkening New York skies, ending air-quality advisories in much of the state — including the Hudson Valley and Capital Region — as soon as midnight Thursday, according to the latest update from the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Air-quality warnings will remain in effect in Long Island, New York City and Western New York at least through Thursday morning.
