The 2023 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix's main event Sunday has arrived: the IndyCar Series' Grand Prix. It's the first top-circuit race on the streets of downtown Detroit since the CART Series' Valvoline Grand Prix of Detroit on June 16, 1991. Team Penske driver Emerson Fittipaldi triumphed that day, with Bobby Rahal finishing second. On Sunday, 32 years later, Rahal's son Graham will try to replicate — or better — his dad's achievement in open-wheel racing's move from Belle Isle to downtown Detroit.
