Biden renews gun control pleas one year after Uvalde massacre

President Biden on Wednesday renewed his call for Congress to pass new gun control measures, including an "assault weapons" ban, during a White House event commemorating the first anniversary of the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, which claimed the lives of 19 children and two adults. After honoring the victims and lamenting the lives that were lost, Biden said American schools have become "killing fields" and that people are crying out for policymakers to "do something."
