Fatal shooting reported on Church Street

An as-yet-unidentified woman is dead after a shooting in Marshalltown on Wednesday afternoon. Just before 4:30 p.m., public safety personnel responded to 607 E. Church St. in Marshalltown after the Marshall County 911 Communications Center received a call about a shooting. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered an adult female, age 57, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
