HARRISBURG, PA — Legislation sponsored by State Rep. Perry Warren (D-Bucks) that would expand background checks for firearm purchases and provide emergency protection for gun owners who are at risk of harming themselves or others passed Monday in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. H.B. 714, which would enact universal background checks, passed by a vote of 109-92, while H.B. 1018, which would create extreme risk protection orders, passed by a vote of 102-99.
