Former congressional staffer, natural resources director, named Great Salt Lake commissioner

Brian Steed, a former congressional staffer for U.S. Rep. Chris Stewart and past Iron County deputy attorney, was named this week as Utah's first "Great Salt Lake Commissioner." Steed, who is also the former director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources, was picked by Utah Gov. Spencer Cox to fill the new role, established to put one person in charge of developing a plant to protect and preserve the lake, which shrunk to a record low last year after years of drought and water overuse along the lake's tributaries....
