Michael Noriega has spent years both as a public defender and attorney in New Jersey, but he noted Monday he has long wanted to be a judge. The Union City native remembered the time when he moved back home with his Peruvian immigrant parents while attending Seton Hall Law School and set up an office in the house. “My dad jokingly, perhaps presciently, began to call that room the ‘courtroom’ and he took to calling me ‘Judge,’” Noriega said.
