Iowa lawmakers have adjourned their 2023 legislative session, one that saw Republicans make fundamental changes to the state's education system and the structure of state government. The final gavel fell at 12:33 p.m. Thursday. Lawmakers packed up their desk supplies in cardboard boxes before trickling out of the Capitol and traveling back to their districts around the state.
