Phoenix police officer hospitalized after responding to domestic violence call

A Phoenix officer was taken to a hospital after responding to a domestic violence call and being assaulted, police said. Just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, an officer with the Phoenix Police Department was investigating a domestic fight between a man and woman in the area of Central Avenue and Thomas Road. The man physically attacked the officer, causing serious injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. After the assault, the man was taken into custody near 3rd Street and Roanoke Avenue by additional responding officers. Police did not identify...
