UIW student found in Selma reportedly died from gunshot wound

The investigation into the University of Incarnate Word student found inside his crashed vehicle in Selma has now turned into a homicide, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office. The medical examiner said on Tuesday, April 18, that Joseph Banales, 22, died from a gunshot wound to his head and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
