Narcan use is up in N.J. as FDA clears way for increased sales
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved over-the-counter sales of Narcan, the opioid overdose-reversing nasal spray, making it easier for New Jersey residents to buy the life-saving medication. Narcan, the brand name of the drug naloxone, has been available without a prescription at some New Jersey pharmacies since at least 2015.
