Man fatally shot on West Side, officer injured in group incident

CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot while driving in South Lawndale early Sunday morning. According to police, a 25-year-old man was driving southbound near the 2200 block of South Sawyer Avenue around 2:00 a.m. when shots were fired into his vehicle. Police say he sustained a gunshot wound to the body and was pronounced dead on the scene.
