At least one civil-liberties group had written to Utah Gov. Spencer Cox to oppose the new regulations. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox signed two bills on Thursday aimed at regulating how and when children and teens use social media. One of the bills, SB152, will require social-media companies to verify that users are at least 18 years old to open an account as of March 1, 2024.
