Woman dies in Orland Hills house fire, cause under investigation

A 41-year-old Orland Hills woman died Tuesday in a house fire, according to authorities. Jessica Maurer identity was released Wednesday by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The Orland Fire Protection District responded at about 2 p.m. Tuesday to the fire in the 8900 block of Beacon Lane, according to a news release. One person escaped the home but Maurer was trapped and had to be removed from the home, according to the release.
