South Carolina school district disputes student's claims in Pledge of Allegiance lawsuit
The South Carolina school district involved in a legal battle with a student who says she was accosted for not saying the Pledge of Allegiance has contradicted the student's claims. Ninth-grade student Marissa Barnwell says she was pushed by a River Bluff High School teacher when she didn't stop to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Barnwell says she was walking quietly in a hallway when the teacher allegedly yelled at her. "I was completely and utterly disrespected," the 15-year-old said.
