CHATHAM — A cluster of South and West side alderpeople are throwing their support behind Paul Vallas for mayor, saying his plan to hire police officers to strengthen public safety is the better solution for their constituents. Local officials and community leaders gathered Thursday at Josephine’s Southern Cooking, 436 E. 79th St., to announce their endorsements of the former Chicago Public Schools CEO. Alds.
