Ohio train derailment: Transportation Secretary Buttigieg traveling to East Palestine on Thursday

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will head to East Palestine, Ohio, for the first time on Thursday, some three weeks after the hazardous train derailment there.

With the National Transportation Safety Board expected to release a preliminary report on the derailment Thursday, Buttigieg will receive an update from the agency on their investigation into the incident, the U.S. Transportation Department said.
