Firearm Manufacturers Testify on Gun Violence
Executives with Daniel Defense and Sturm, Ruger & Co. defended their gun manufacturing businesses against personal responsibility following multiple mass shootings across the U.S. where the gunmen used assault style weapons to kill people including children. Marty Daniel and Christopher Killoy appeared virtually before the House Oversight and Reform Committee. The committee is investigating the potential role these gun makers play in mass shootings through their sells and advertising. Prior to the hearing, the committee released data stating the top five gun manufacturers' together brought in more than $1 billion in revenue for the sell of assault weapons. Others testifying included representatives from Giffords Law Center, Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and Gun Owners of America.
