Stocks Open Lower After Jobs Report
U.S. stocks fell and extended losses Friday after one of Wall Street’s worst selloffs since the pandemic began.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 400 points, or 1.4%, a day after the blue-chip index slumped more than 1,000 points, its worst day since 2020. The S&P 500 lost 1.7%, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq dropped 2.2%.
All three major indexes are on track for weekly losses.
