5 things to know: Today is last day to register to vote in May runoff

Today is the last day to register to vote in the May 24 primary runoff election. This election will feature runoff races between the top two vote-getting candidates in the March 1 primary election for each party where one candidate did not win more than 50% of the vote.

This election is different from the May 7 Constitutional election, which will address two Texas Constitutional amendments and feature local races such as city council and school board elections. Early voting for that election begins today.
