CBP Reports Record 221,303 Encounters at U.S.-Mexico Border in March
U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports 221,303 "encounters" of noncitizens trying to illegally cross into the United States in March, the highest monthly total in history -- and those are just the encounters we know about.
According to CBP, the 221,303 encounters in March is 37 percent more than the 165,894 in February. Most encounters -- 76 percent -- involved single adults, a 33 percent increase from February.
