Local Governments Added 20,000 Employees in March
Local governments in the United States added 20,000 employees in March, according to the numbers released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
At the same time, overall government employment in the United States increased by only 5,000 thousand, as both the federal government and state governments decreased their number of employees during the month.
In February, local governments in the United States employed 14,076,000. In March, that climbed to 14,096,000.
